The Red Gables Inn Bed and Breakfast built in 1865 is a fine example of the Italianate/Greek Revival architectural style reminiscent of this bygone era.
The cozy parlor is a perfect place to enjoy a good book, play the piano or just visit with friends. The wrap around porch entices you to sit awhile and reminisce, enjoy the view of historic neighborhood homes, and the fresh breezes from Lake Pepin.
The queen and king size Victorian style bed chambers offer a shower, bath, or a shower over an antique claw foot soaking tub. Prior to dining, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary twilight wine and hor d'oeuvres in the comfort of the parlor, the fireside dining room or porch. A bountiful breakfast buffet includeds gourmet coffees and teas, fresh fruits and juices, homemade pastries and breads, specialty entrees and meat dishes.
Year round activities abound in the river bluffs and valley surrounding Lake City. A stroll along the 2 mile River Walk follows Lake Pepin's scenic shoreline to quaint downtown shops, restaurants and the Lake City Marina. Opportunities for adventure are limitless; from water sports to bird watching, rock hunting and golfing. Winter sports include downhill, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.
The Red Gables Inn is located in a charming residential neighborhood just 3 blocks from the junction of Highways 63 and 61, known as the Great River Road.
